What is the Social Innovation Camp? (Bratislava, 16-18 September)
The Social Innovation Camp is an experiment in creating social innovations for the digital age by bringing together talented developers and designers with social innovators in order to build effective tools and solutions for real social problems
2. How does it work?
- You think of an idea, something that bothers you in your community/society and little is done to address it. Ideas do not mean full-fledged project proposals, no – the best ones are “back of the envelope” ideas, even if they are just a though, a concept.
- You let us know about your idea. A panel of judges (all professionals in the web/social areas) select 7 ideas that will be worked upon at the camp.
- The camp itself — 2 days of intensive work with people from different countries, backgrounds and skill sets
- a Show and Tell session where you present the idea and what has been done in 2 days
- a Prize, to boost further work on the project
- Great Experience, Nice People, Networking and Problem-Solving
- Anything you want is possible next
The Social Innovation Camp is looking for developers, designers, social needs experts, business/marketing/legal people. Overall, SI Camp wants to attract enthusiastic people who want to have a say and change things.
If you have an idea (or better, several ones) but you’re not sure that you’re on the same track with the Social Innovation Camp, you can check what makes a Good SI Camp Idea and also see some examples here.
